The mask in many cultures is not something we hide behind, but something we become. It allows us to step into an archetypes, to meet our spirit guides, to embody forces of nature, animals, protectors, and guardians of the unseen. Through this process, we reclaim clay as a sacred material that’s alive, responsive and deeply connected to the earth.

In the ancient Americas, gold was a manifestation of the sacred associated with the sun. In Colombia offerings containing gold pieces were offered to the gods. The combination of ceramic and gold reflected the deep belief that material objects could serve as vessels for spiritual strength, honoring the gods and reinforcing the harmonious relationship between humans and the natural world.
