In the ancient Americas, gold was a manifestation of the sacred associated with the sun. In Colombia offerings containing gold pieces were offered to the gods. This is an ornamental piece inspired by the double spouted vessels, created to honor water. Also a symbolic representation of duality, a common concept in many Andean belief systems. Opposites were often seen not as conflicts but as complementary forces that maintained cosmic balance. The bridge connecting the spouts symbolize the relationship or exchange between realms.
